Still no action on Diego flooding
I have had to turn to the media for assistance in getting word out about the inaction that is contributing to the flooding in the Petit Valley and Diego Martin areas. I have tried without success to get the DMRC to take action on the flooding issues. We have had four floods from August, 2012, to September, 2013, and still no action is being taken to clear the drains and make changes to alleviate the situation.
Every time it rains now the residents cringe at the possibility of flooding along with the associated loss of property value, life, possessions, vehicles, money to replace and repair, etc. Since no action is being taken one can only assume that the powers that be simply do not care. It is not their problem and they rather deal with the issue by reacting instead of proactively resolving it. Since sending the e-mails to relevant authorities, neither has any action been taken nor has any response been provided.
We the people need to know what is going on with efforts to deal with the flooding issues here. Mr Sammy, Chairman of the DMRC, needs to get compliance from his people. We need leaders who can effect action.
