I applaud the letter to the editor in yesterday's Guardian from Gwynneth McEachrane headlined Two immigration officers for 100 passengers. My flight, United 1505 from New Jersey, arrived at 5.30 am December 31, six hours after the American flight. There were more than 300 passengers on this flight and as Ms McEachrane stated there were only two immigration officers for residents and two for visitors.
After coming off a red eye flight, I was not expecting to stand in line for a ridiculous amount of time to get my passport stamped. As a visitor and someone who came to T&T for a vacation, I think it was appalling that I had to stand in line for so long. The immigration service needs to get their act together.
