Location, location, location. In the real estate business these are the key words used to describe prime property, and Chaguaramas in the western peninsular is prime property.I have been reading in the newspapers about the big plans for the development of Chaguaramas being undertaken by the CDA. This sounds beautiful, but to get to my point, not a word is said about the road that takes you in and out of the area.
On any given day to go for a drive to Chaguaramas is a challenge. Besides the heavy traffic flow in and out, the existing road is in terrible condition and needs repaving, but this still is not the answer. We need a new road to take us there. In 2006 I wrote an article to the newspapers about building a causeway to the western peninsular. It can be done, we are not reinventing the wheel. This is something that is done all over the world. Bring in the experts and get it done.
Other than that, the Government could try to acquire the properties bounding with the existing road but this could take forever and at what cost.To the CDA and to the Government please let the people of Trinidad know what are your plans besides the Water Taxi, about the road to Chaguaramas.
