This is the first T&T Prime Minister with enough gumption to fire rogue ministers the moment they show their true colours. No make-believing nothing happened. Fire too, the mantra "politics has a morality of its own." Fire those who posture as being noble, honest, decent, pious and benevolent. Put morality into politics.Take note, women, fire them when they lose respect. Fire them before they unleash abuse. Just because they're volunteering for positions doesn't mean they're fit to hold the job.
PNM's Faris Al-Rawi wants the PM gone. But I say Al-Rawi's leader, Dr Rowley, lacks the strength to do political cleansing. Al-Rawi, Rowley and the rest of the PNM hierarchy still believe in hiding dirty laundry under the carpet. The time has come to throw out the dirty laundry. Fire them! What prime ministers fail to do voters do at general elections. Before the 2010 general elections PNM had 26 ministers in Parliament. Voters fired 14 of them in 2010.
But there are still some questions that need to be answered:
1. Where is the PP Government getting the money to make and run those pre-general elections propaganda performance ads? Those Government's "voices" ads about bailey bridges, pension payout systems, highway usage, building projects, immigration systems updates?
2. Would Chandresh Sharma and 11 other ministers have had cause to resign or be fired if they did not allow political power to go to their heads?
3. It's about time rogue public sector officials get fired. When will the Prime Minister's precedent-setting firings trickle down to firing of corrupt permanent secretaries, state board members, senior management public servants, department heads and lazy run-of-the-mill public servants?
