The various religious leaders, judging by their comments during the Easter season, were extremely critical of society at large and the Government in particular, with regard to morality and I want to know where were they when religious instruction in schools was abolished. The majority of our population 40 and below have not had the benefit of being taught the value of moral behaviour during their educational years (at school) and perhaps view it as a foreign language which they have no intention of learning.
What those religious leaders should be doing is demanding that religious instruction be re-introduced as part of the curriculum from primary school up, and attempt to encourage the PTA, leaders of the political parties and parents in this endeavour.
