A 30-year-old San Juan man appeared in court yesterday charged with the murder of Tobagonian contactor James Morris.The instructions to charge the man, Kevon "Gellie" Bain came after Homicide Detectives visited the sister isle two weeks ago and conducted extensive investigations. The man lived in Tobago for a number of years, police said.The 67-year-old radio personality and political activist, known as Mr Mt Pleasant, was robbed and killed shortly before 9 am on April 2 at his home.
Bain who appeared before Senior Magistrate Indra Ramoo-Haynes was ordered to be transferred to the Scarborough's Magistrates' Court where he would re-appear on May 20.On Monday, Sterlone Romeo, 27, of Mt Pleasant, appeared before Magistrate Glen Mahabir, in the Scarborough Magistrates Court accused of being in unlawful possession and receiving jewelery belonging to Morris. He was denied bail and remanded into custody to reappear on May 15.
