The Prime Minister finally made the only decision that could have been made regarding the debacle that was Life Sport, that is, to "remove" the minister directly responsible for the creation and running of the massively corrupt programme, which it is alleged, funded criminals to the tune of tens of millions.
The fact that the extent of the corruption and the existing danger of funding of criminal elements, both directly and indirectly, was well known since at least April of this year when the Auditor General made several urgent appeals for immediate audits, which were subsequently dismissed and delayed for as long as was possible, clearly says there has been dereliction of duty or worse.
The Prime Minister's method of dealing with matters she prefers to describe as missteps, but can be described as unlawful, in my opinion is nothing less than a display of contempt for the citizenry.
The truth be told, and it needs to be, the buck stopped with Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar some time ago. No one else. No efforts at damage control can change the majority opinion that this administration has failed the people of T&T in the worst way.
