My first point has to do with my putting out garbage yesterday. I trimmed an orange tree that I carefully put in rice bags and garbage bags that I purchased because I know that the collectors do not collect weeds or branches if left openly on the pavement. In all it was six bags, and although neatly packaged, the truck passed by and left it on the pavement.
Now my big question is, what must I do with this type of garbage when I have it? A friend told me that I have to call the City Council (Corporation) and ask them to collect it and that I have to pay for that type of garbage to be collected. I eh doing that.
I didn't know that we were into collection of garbage by "recycling" category–like they do in first world countries. If that is the case then kudos to us. Hip hip hooray. But why should I have to pay for collection and why have we not been advised publicly of this? I guess this type of irregularity is the modus operandi of our country.
My next point has to do with my going to the Immigration Division office on Frederick Street to collect a form to renew my passport. I was told to stand in a line of about ten people to collect this form. Everyone was complaining and rightly so, because we had to stand in a line for about ten to 15 minutes then spend all of 20 seconds to collect the form.
Does this make sense? Why can't the forms not be put on a desk where people can simply walk in, take one and be gone instantly? Apart from this there is no list of requirements for renewal that is given out. You have to read it off a notice on the glass and write it down if you need to remember.
We really have to put up with senseless dotishness in this country oui!
