How disappointing that Mr Patrick Manning should refuse to accept the highest award of T&T, offered to him by the Prime Minister. Whether we like it or not the Prime Minister represents each and every one of the electorate and as such demands the respect of all citizens of the Republic. Is it any wonder then, that so many do not respect the law in our nation when our leaders scorn the very position to which they once, or even still, aspire?
We citizens must pay attention to respecting the position and not the person that some may feel we have mistakenly elected. Ever since 2010 our Prime Minister has been subjected to scorn and ridicule by many in our society and yet is expected to lead the nation–and the same can be said of our protective services. While we complain about the lawlessness of certain elements many have no respect for police officers.
We continue on a daily basis to gripe and complain without even once contemplating the good that is being done by the Government and this begins with the Opposition who appear to think that their role is only to object to everything that the duly elected propose.Wouldn't it be nice if the media went out and saw for themselves and reported on the improvements within our nation since 2010? But that is something that will not happen as long as they, the media, have no respect for the nation as a whole.
