T&T on a whole is on a learning curve when it comes to understanding the importance of environmental valuation, preservation and management, and how this can interact with social and economic systems. There have been many cases of project executions in T&T without regard for following the internationally-accepted environmental due process.
This is wrong and counterproductive to true development. It shows little respect for the living and non-living systems that make up our interactive surroundings. Living and non-living systems are interactive and imbalance of one can affect the other. Such impacts have consequences to health, of not only the environment and ecology, but also of humans. eWe have seen too many irrational decisions of the past resulting in long-term outcomes we typically regret today.
