The human body is a network in which interrelation takes place. If one part is poorly looked after it will affect the others and will shut down eventually. Similarly a country, believe it or not, can be compared to the human body. For example, when the oil spill occurred in December 2013 didn't the demand for fish increase and prices skyrocket in the North?
When it floods in Central aren't the market prices also high? Crime for instance, has people from the south very sceptical about carousing in the Port-of-Spain and Arima. This shouldn't be so.Our country is socially dehydrated. We have been plagued with traffic and low response times to crime and accidents. The road systems can be described as the veins of the country transporting the blood which is the citizenry. Our education, industrial, agricultural and economic systems all depend on roads.
The Point Fortin Highway will serve as an IV to replenish our malnourished system. Faster response time and increased marketability will result. The Debe residents are benefiting so far, soon enough the entire country will.
