It is my fervent hope that each and every West Indian cricketer involved in that most sordid exit from the recent Indian tour receives the appropriate sanction for their actions.
I expect that as a minimum, all players would be banned for two years from all forms of local, regional and international cricket. Such sanctions will have to emanate from the WIBC and the ICC.
I have already made up my mind that any match or tournament in which any of these players are involved will not have me as a spectator if some reasonable sanction is not brought to bear.
I have always found it difficult to work harder at supporting the game than the players appear to work at playing it, but this is the last straw.
Notwithstanding the real or perceived failings of all the other parties involved, there can be no excuse for this behaviour, and accordingly there ought not to be any future without sanction.
I hope the WICB and ICC can grow some backbone to deal with this disaster.
If not, it will be left to us to turn our backs on this horrendous spectacle that has become West Indies cricket.
