A recent letter to the editor alerted me that other people were seeing the same thing as I. That is the Queen's Park Savannah was slowly but surely becoming a shanty town.Along the park benches vagrants and dogs have taken up residence. A couple has pitched camp outside the President's entrance and they are there undisturbed even though they may be a security risk.
There are heaps of sand being dumped along the Belmont leg. I note also that there is construction going on as a WASA well is being dug.So on one side, mas lovers and the national Carnival have claimed a portion. There is a food court which is arguably the most thriving eating centre in Port-of-Spain.Is there no one else seeing these things? Is there nothing that can be done to preserve the Savannah as the lungs of the city?
What a shame! God bless this nation
