I could not go another day without commenting on Lyndira Oudit's resignation as political leader of the Independent Liberal Party. I read in the newspaper that she said she always felt overshadowed by Jack Warner, which is understandable. But the fact that he is once more political leader changes absolutely nothing because, as Oudit admitted, Jack has always been calling the shots.
The ILP was formed as a vehicle for Jack Warner to contest the Chaguanas West by-election and for him to "teach his former UNC colleagues a lesson." End of story.Warner knows full well that the ILP has absolutely no chance of winning a single seat in the 2015 general elections but will go to the ends of the earth to bring down the UNC because he could not have his way within the party.
If I may just offer a piece of advice to Mrs Lyndira Oudit: get out while you can! I believe it was a good start to resign as political leader but you must now go the extra mile and leave the party altogether. You can contribute so much more in another capacity so why stay within the trenches of a revenge machine? The ILP is as good as dead and has nowhere further to go.All may not be lost for her politically after all.
