At the time of writing, the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB), has not yet indicated the composition of or terms of reference for the promised task force (TF) to investigate the issues surrounding the recent abandonment of the Indian tour.In anticipation of an early announcement, please allow me to suggest to the eventual task force appointees that the following questions be directed by them to Dwayne Bravo and his accomplices:
1) Were the player contracts governing the current 20/20 tournament in South Africa offered before the withdrawal or threat of withdrawal from the Indian tour?
2) If they were not offered before, when did you and/or your group first have discussions with the South African tournament organisers about participation in the Ram Slam tournament currently under way?
3) When were the application for player work permits for the current tournament made to the South African Department of Labor, and by whom?
4) Did you seek assurances from the Indian Premier League (IPL) organisation or representatives that you and your group would not be barred from participation in their future tournaments before the withdrawal from the Indian tour?
I would also further respectfully suggest that the Cricket South Africa (CSA) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) be asked by the task force to provide corroborative input or information for the answers provided to the above questions. The tournament organisers mentioned are all close affiliates of the CSA and BCCI so answers would presumably not be difficult to obtain.
