ChikV is still in full swing as I write and to date, at least two months after I wrote a previous letter, spraying in Woodbrook has not continued. After reading Dr Bratt's commentary on his experience with the disease, I have become more afraid of catching it.I never had to use a mosquito net before, but I do now. Many cans of insecticide and a bottle-and-a-half of citronella oil later, no spraying is taking place.
Dr Bratt estimates 1,000,000 cases in the Caribbean–God alone knows how many in T&T alone.I suppose the recent flooding, Brasso Seco fugitive on the run, and Soca Warriors "strike" is enough to take everyone's focus away from the danger of ChikV so no spraying is not an issue with many.
God help us all.
