Once again a popular television host has shown up the incompetencies and inefficiency of the T&T Police Service. The tracking and subsequent revelation of an alleged killer's whereabouts shows up how ineffective a police service we have. Imagine, a force of almost 4,000 "trained" officers do not have a clue where to start in the manhunt for this individual.
However, in just one week the host of the television crime show was able to unearth videos of the misdoings via clips of his past activities viz car accidents in Kelly Village, admittance at the Mt Hope Hospital and before that, his escape from a crime scene.
When we hear of so many police officers getting promotion in the service one wonders, for what? What are these officers doing to get this promotion? Is it promotion by passing police exams? Then these officers are definitely in the wrong place, they should be in UWI instead. We need servicemen and women not pseudo officers.
The citizens of this country demand better performance from these well-paid officers. They are certainly not being paid all kinds of allowances to ride around in patrol cars and harass females when they visit the police stations to make reports. Two hundred plus days and not a clue about the killing of former State Counsel Dana Seetahal is too much.Is it that we should fire the whole lot and appoint television personalities? The service is failing us miserably.
