The England Test team is currently in the Caribbean for a three-Test series. This is to be followed by the Australians for a two-Test series.
To the West Indian cricket fans who are excited about these matches and hope that our team performs well, let's face reality.
For England and Australia these short series were well planned and are nothing but practice games prior to the all-important Ashes series this summer in England.
To add insult to injury the head of the England and Wales cricket association stated publicly that if England should lose the series against the West Indies then there ought to be a commission of enquiry. What ignominy!
Gone are the days of any five-match Test series against the top-ranked Test-playing countries. It only goes to show how low our Test team has reached. Nevertheless, our prayers (we pray a lot in the Caribbean) and best wishes go out to our team.
