After listening to the founder of the UNC, Mr Basdeo Panday's unkind and ungentlemanly remarks on Kamla Persad-Bissessar, the woman who he trained and mentored to be the political animal she is today, I can only conclude that he is jealous of Keith Rowley and Jack Warner.
Such remarks, like he was considering representing Siparia, are low and are in keeping with his signature 10-1 loser syndrome.
He now frets that the woman whom he resented when she sought to assume leadership would today stand tall. Today, he hates the mention of her name, when he reposts "Is that what you call her?"
He thought he could rule over her like he emasculated Winston Dookeran and Ramesh Maharaj, both of whom were elected UNC leader, but Mr Panday refused to hand over the Leader of the Opposition post to either when they won internal elections (remember?) thinking that he would live forever.
If he now so identifies with Keith Rowley, he should instead contest the PNM leadership, because he is not far away from becoming the very thing he fought for all of his life. He is now the same as the average PNM supporter–he ignores the delivery of the Government, harping daily on pathetic "constitutional reform," poverty, corruption and crime.
Quite frankly though, the PNM might be better off with Mr Panday as the leader instead of Jack Warner or Keith Rowley.
Then maybe, Penny, NiLeung and Amery might stand a better chance.
God bless this nation.
