The situation in of gang war fare in Enterprise, Chaguanas is one of the grave concerns to all that live and work in that area. Many have placed themselves into self-imposed curfews. This is not the situation that we want to live in. Its remarkable to see that only after a few hours returning from the CARICOM heads of Government meeting in Barbados, Mrs. Persad-Bissessar, together with a large contingent of heavily armed soldiers and police officers, visited our crime infested area where she informed us that plans had been put in place to restore peace to the community.
"Operation Restore" she said will bring back peace and stability to the central Trinidad community by having a joint security force effort to bring gang violence under control. Many residents are grateful that she had turned her attention to what has become a war zone by bold criminal elements. I, a former resident of Chaguanas would openly like to commend the Prime Minister for her efforts to change this paradigm that I fled from over eight years ago.
