I was very disappointed, when on searching the Internet, to find out that my son Dexter Mahase was placed as the number four player on the T&T Davis Cup team which did not allow him to play in the singles and only eligible for the doubles.
I want to know if Dexter Mahase is being victimised.
After the trials and a 13-day training camp prior to the 2015 Davis Cup tournament, which was played in Panama from July 20 to 26, Mahase was ranked number two.
The American zone group three consisted of teams from Bahamas, Guatemala, Bermuda, Jamaica and T&T.
The T&T team was: No. 1 Vaughn Wilson; No. 2 Ethan Ammon; Akiel Duke; and Dexter Mahase.
After the trials Mahase was named the No. 2 player, but after reaching Panama he then went to No. 3 and finally No. 4.
I believe he was being victimised by the T&T tennis officials in Panama and I want to know why the T&T officials interfered with the placings of the Davis Cup team, and why.
I would like the president of tennis T&T to respond to this embarrassing development.
Players are the most important people.
Harry Mahase,
La Romain
