Why is Dr Rowley trying to palm off failed/neglected PNM projects unto the PP government? In one of his conversations on Tuesday night he lamented that the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba was never completed under the PPG's tenure and this was an example of their failure to develop the country.
Dr Rowley is in a position to know that his party held government from 2001 to 2010 and that this project was that of his party.
He is also in a position to know that the controversial stadium was set to open in 2006 and host matches for the 2007 Cricket World Cup but could not due to severe cost overruns in the vicinity of hundreds of millions and mismanagement of the project.
They did not complete the project in their five-year term from 2001 and went on to secure another term in 2007 and again failed to get the project off the ground. It is now preposterous for Dr Rowley to complain that the present government failed to clean up PNM's mess.
The country has lost millions in this shell and our cricketing hero has the unfortunate burden of it carrying his prestigious name, yet our opposition leader expects us to invest even more money into fixing it.
I wish to ask Dr Rowley if he will be resurrecting this project should he win the 2015 general election?
