On behalf of my father and the Leelah family who live at Lawrence Park (Eden Rahim Park) and who are directly affected by the nuisance of the constant ball coming over the fence, and having to face the harassment of the players wanting to trespass on our property, I am pleading to the Arima Borough Corporation to once and for all put a stop to this 47-year nonsense.
The Peschiers experience the worst of it. We are under no obligation to allow anyone to come into our yards to retrieve their ball. We have a legal right to protect ourselves and property.
This past week has been very nerve-wracking with these young boys, who should be in school, playing and smoking in the park during school hours. On Tuesday the ball came over and they boldly came into our yard for the ball. My father, Mr Peschier, 83, and myself had to chase them out. The stress is taking a toll on my father.
We are literally living in fear of our lives. It amazes me how we have to beg people to do their jobs. Just imagine the young boy telling me: "Who tell you to build a house near a park?" Very rude and disrespectful. The residents have been here over for 50 years–way before the park. We really need the Borough Corporation to put an end to this.
