It grieves me to see how this father is suffering and is treated like a common criminal. This man does not deserve to go through this kind of punishment. He made a mistake. Making a mistake does not say you are a bad person. It was a bad judgment based on circumstance, on his behalf.
There are no perfect parents; there are no manuals to tell us how to be perfect parents. All parents make mistakes somewhere along the way. I know because I have four children. This father is paying double as he is in jail, and also that he cannot get bail. He did not even have enough time to mourn for his son. How can we be so insensitive?
What is happening is that the authorities are causing more harm. This father could end up with depression because nobody has sympathy for him. Why not reduce the bail to $50,000? There are people who committed worse crimes and got their bail reduced. But a father who might be a good person is suffering in a prison cell because he cannot afford to get bail. What kind of people are we? Are we not our brother's keeper?
You want to tell me that nobody in this country can set up a bank account to help this father get bail? Are we so callous to each other? Come on somebody, help this father, he went through enough.
He needs some time to grieve for his son, do not let him suffer any more. We are good people, do something, anything that will help this father, please.
