In the midst of our grim situation, as a country we have a lot to be thankful for. In other countries there are food shortages and there is rioting and looting taking place. People don't have basic amenities like toiletries.
In America there was widespread protest and violence during and after the elections. There still is after the inauguration. There was devastation in Haiti in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew and in France a terror attack caused panic, pain and loss of lives.
Here is a list of things that we can be thankful in this country:
2 An earthquake reading 6.1 rocked T&T, but there was no loss of lives or damage to our infrastructure
2 No hurricane affected us during the rainy season
2 Our economy, even though it is not as strong as we would like it to be, is stable
2 Many businesses are doing well and are able to employ extra staff
2 Banks are still making huge profits
2 There are still job opportunities available
2 Educational opportunities
2 Freedom to vote
2 Freedom of worship
2 No major incidents during the election seasons
2 Most of us have running water.
These are just some of the things that we can give thanks for. Too often we tend to murmur and complain about every and anything. Let's just give thanks T&T.
