Squatters multiplying along Guayamare River bank

Wednesday, May 17, 2017

There is a developing squatter problem developing along the Guayamare River, and, if left unchecked by the relevant authorities, it will result in serious health and safety issues within the area.

These squatters are located west of the Uriah Butler Highway and have taken up residence right on the edge of the river bank. The structures are multiplying and the central authorities, or for that matter, the relevant ministries, are not addressing the unpleasant escalating issue. No doubt their effluent is being discarded right into the same river, further adding to its pollution.

This matter should be investigated and immediate action taken to tackle this situation before it becomes critical.
