A welcome new look for lighthouse
I never thought I would live to see the day when the Port-of-Spain Lighthouse, which overlooks the entrance to our country’s capital, would undergo such a wonderful makeover.
Whoever is responsible for that monument, whether it be the Maritime Services Division of the Ministry of Works and Transport, the National Trust of T&T or even the PoS City Corporation, have left it rotting for roughly a decade. In that time it has become unsightly and quite frankly an embarrassment on our part to anyone visiting the capital.
The clocks are also a welcome addition, giving the structure a whole new look. Thank goodness someone has taken up the mantle to restore this ageing landmark!
If the government doesn’t have the funding to do this then, by all means, allow the private sector to do the job.
