Playing stupid with personal safety
The individual who insists on keeping large amounts of cash stored at home is playing a game of Russian roulette. With no security cameras installed this game is doubly not in your favour. Believing that nobody else knows that you keep vast amounts of unsecured cash is suicidal. This is T&T, where every Tom, Dick and Harry talk just for the sake of talking. Bandits have information on those who are careless with their possessions or hiding ill-gotten gains under the mattress.
The individual who goes to the bank to either deposit or withdraw large amounts of cash to pay staff or bills without a personal security guard is either very cheap, very stupid, or both. The commercial bank that does not closely monitor staff is in denial that employees might be facilitating attacks on customers.
The small business that does not do background checks on new staff is looking for trouble. Your friends could be recommending a thief for employment. You cannot rely on outward appearance and who is who family and friend. When cash must be collected from members of the public you have to be your own security guard.
The latest dastardly act is stealing from places of worship. Some blame must fall on you. Why is your meeting house/church/mosque/temple operating without security cameras 24/7x365 days? Not every single worshipper can be trusted anymore. How can you tell who has an ulterior motive? If you also operate a business venture on the same compound, trouble will always be lurking with people counting your money for you.
Do we have enough heavily armed police to spare? Can we lend every household or business place, two officers to stand by your gate?
How long before we wake up and smell the coffee regarding the beefing up of personal security?
