Thanks to the St James Police

Monday, August 6, 2018

Please allow me this opportunity to express my gratitude to the wonderful officers at the St James Police Station, to whom I turned for help recently.

As a senior citizen, I feel that I have faced every kind of exploitation possible. I’ve been ripped off by mechanics, handymen and bullied by people to whom I have opened up my home.

Feeling particularly vulnerable recently and with nowhere else to turn, I visited the St James Police Station where I was greeted with politeness and caring. WPC George, who was on duty that day, took a few minutes from her busy schedule to show me how to use my phone to get the fastest response in case of emergency. I left the station feeling assured that I could believe that the words “Protect and Serve” were more than just a slogan.

Not long after, when I needed the direct intervention of the police, I again visited the station. Unfortunately, I did not get the names of the officers who assisted me then, but once again I experienced the true professionalism expected of the police service. St James police are truly among Trinidad’s finest.
