There is still hope; everyone has times in his or her life that are trying. What matters is not what happens to us but, how we react to these hiccups in our lives. Beliefs have the power to create and the power to destroy. Human beings have the awesome ability to take any experience of their lives and create a meaning that dis-empowers them or, one that can literally save their lives.
One of the stories I will mention in today’s article is about a client who came to me with a terminal illness. With her visit, I told her we’re going to celebrate this illness together! You can just imagine the look on her face when I told her that. So I helped to calm her down and then encouraged her to consider that her entire experience, that very moment, was all happening for a reason—even if it was terrifying. I explained to her that she must learn to give her body what it truly needs to restore and repair itself. When you’re treating your body the best you possibly can, you’re more full of energy and your mind is better able to focus. I encouraged her to rely on the principles of ‘a directed mind and heart.”
One of the most potent biological mechanisms that promote this type of health and healing is found directly in the mind. If utilised and directed effectively, our thoughts, emotions and mindset can be one of the most potent allies toward mitigating disease and manifesting energy and vitality. For a healthy mind and body, make a concerted effort to practice these principles:
Stand guard at the door of your mind: Condition empowering emotions such as gratitude, courage, faith, determination, compassion and love. Break your pattern and avoid emotions that create stress.
Utilise the healing power of the heart: Three times a day, stop what you are doing and shift your focus (mind, breath, emotion) to the area around your heart.
Flood yourself with positive memories and future visions 10 minutes a day
The human body was designed for motion yet, few of us actually use the full range of movement. This gift, the power of structural alignment and maximum strength, is designed to take charge of the motion-powered musculature system: one of the primary foundations and framework for human health and the systems that support it. Start focusing on the following:
Move! Avoid living in a box: Take the stairs, stay active and move as many muscles in your body as you can daily! Remember, a healthy mind and body are connected.
Implement an effective regimen of stretches and exercises that are balanced through bilateral symmetry and working opposing muscle groups. (Get an evaluation and personalised program).
After several sessions my client started to see the results and understanding the concept of celebrating life even knowing she was terminally ill. This empowered her to change her health and reinvigorate her body. She also entirely altered her diet to achieve healthy pH balance.
So, I beg of you—love yourself. You are the one constant in your life. Remember to always treasure and love yourself and that you deserve nothing less than the best. Be grateful to all the people around you because they help you grow, they enrich your life experience and without them, your life would not be the same. Last but not least: love life. I find living to be a fascinating experience. We all live on this Island of over 1.3 million people, and everyone is thriving in their own way, existing, co-existing, and co-creating. There’s so much out there that we don’t know and so much to be experienced—it’s just wonderful. As you live, remember to love life. It’s the only way we have to live.
