TCL hosts parang party

Courts Sound Specialists of Laventille entertains guests at House of Angostura.
The Trinidad Cement Ltd and its umbrella companies, opened up the Christmas season with their annual parang party held at the TCL Sports Club, Claxton Bay on December 3. There were performances by veteran singer Kenny J, Courts Ruisenores and TCL employee Hezekiah Joseph. Kenny J sang many of his popular hits including The Paintbrush, Alexander, The Cork and Hush Yuh Mouth.
Courts Ruisenores delivered several of their own compositions, including La Escogida, El Nacimiento del Rey, El Telegrino and O la de la Mar. The group, according to lead singer Dominic Browne, has been performing since 1986 and have been the winners of several parang competitions. Lucky winners of door prizes received bottles of whiskey and rum. There was also a happy hour during which everyone was served with several delicacies.
