"To make Hindi one of the official languages of the UNO and to make it a real world language, T&T has to play a major role, along with Mauritius, Fiji, Suriname and Guyana. But to play that role, T&T has to first revive Hindi and other Indian languages in the country. For that, the teaching of these languages at school level is a must."He said the tradition of reviving ethnic languages must take place not only with Indian languages, but African languages as well. This, he said, would serve as a valuable tool in separating oneself from the chains of colonialism that still existed on a cultural level.
