How­ev­er, the fol­low­ing breeds are no­to­ri­ous for hav­ing their tails cut with­out anaes­the­sia be­fore they are sev­en-days-old: Box­er, Dober­man Pin­sch­er, Minia­ture Pin­sch­er, Poo­dle (all sizes), Rot­tweil­er, Schnau­zer (all sizes), most herd­ing breeds, most hunt­ing breeds and most spaniels. The ears are usu­al­ly cropped in the fol­low­ing breeds: Boston Ter­ri­er (ears cropped at 6 months), Box­er, Dober­man Pin­sch­er, Great Dane, Pit­bull Ter­ri­er and Schnau­zer (all sizes). If you breed or pur­chase any of the above, please do your part for an­i­mal wel­fare and en­sure that the ears and tail of your new fam­i­ly mem­ber are left in­tact.God would not have giv­en them if they were not need­ed.
