Shoppers at Gulf City Mall were given a delightful treat last Friday as beautiful models from the House of Jacqui ripped the Runway at the mall's fashion fiesta. The show sought to highlight the newest and top stores and was part of the makeover process. The beautiful models displayed Vintage Bridal gowns which ranged in a variety of styles and sizes. The men's suits and tuxedos were all part of the wardrobe from Bradford and Detours Gent Store.
On the hands of the bride and groom were dazzling gold rings from Kaur's Collection. Evening wear lit up the stage with designs from Cream Soda which boasted of a variety of colours and patterns that suits occasions such as graduations, dinners and weddings. Priya's collection held a fine line up of authentic Indian wear to suit all occasions for both male and female. Carnival casual wear was on display, with collections from Francis Fashion, Toxic and Designer's Look. A tantalising swim wear caught the eyes of beach lovers especially those who may be attending the Ash Wednesday Cool Down. They were provided by the stores, IOS and Rave.
The models then presented a series of souvenir T Shirt from the Native Spirits collection for tourist looking to take back home the memories of Trinidad and Tobago. The kiddies had there turn as they modelled designs from Lavie 316 and Mom's Cradle. Optometrist today offered eye protection from the sun with a collection of sporty and classy sun shades. Hand bags were part of the line up from Saleena's Exclusive. Public Relations Officer for the Mall, Sarah Ragoonath said that the event was held in-tune with the Carnival season. She said the aim was to highlight the tenants of the mall while giving the shoppers a first hand view of their designs.
"This is just the beginning for shoppers as we plan to treat them to a variety of events. It was part of the new and improve Gulf City, which is not just a shopping mall, but a shopping experience," she said.
The next event for the mall will be the Easter Bonnet Parade to be held in April.
