Orator Deborah Jean Baptiste- Samuel is expected to be the feature speaker at the San Fernando Government School's "Buy a Book" campaign, tomorrow at the school's compound, Rushworth Street, San Fernando.Deputy Mayor Navi Muradali is also expected to attend. A release said the project was aimed at enhancing the number of and quality of books in the school's library since the library became depleted due to a serious infestation by the silverfish bug. Nalis Library indicated there should be 13 books per child if a library is to best serve the school's population.
Among those spearheading the project are Chairman Ian Campbell, Dr Margaret Cain (vice chairman).Among the school's most prominent past pupils are former prime minister Patrick Manning, attorney Lynette Maharaj and Dr Edmund Michael, Chairman of the Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Commerce.Nigel Khan Bookseller and Keith Khan Books Etc have partnered with the Board for displays. Books will be available at Nigel Khan's Book Sellers, Price Plaza, Gulf City Mall and Ellerslie Plaza.
