Anup Jalota, in his 30 years as an international singer, has released more than 200 albums, ghazals, as well as albums in tribute to some India's immortal singers as Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Hemant Kumar and CH Atma. He has earned a record number of over 100 certified gold, platinum and multi-platinium discs and started his musical career as a chorus singer in All India Radio. In most of his concerts, he usually is backed by a santoor, adholak, a sarod player, a sarangi, a violinist, a sitar player, a table palyer and a guitarist, all of whom will comprise his full band. He was born in Nainital, Uttarakand to Purushottam Das Jalota, a renowned exponent of bhajans. He was educated in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
