The Friends of the Holy Trinity Cathedral will host their annual Lenten Prayer Breakfast on Saturday, 8 am, at Cascadia Hotel in St Ann's. The proceeds will go to the Organ Fund. Co-adjustor Bishop Berkley is guest speaker. A contribution of $150 is being asked and tickets are available at the Cathedral office 623-7271.
The Cathedral's pipe organ built in 1914 by JW Walker and son London and its "silent" twin at the Roman Catholic Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, down-town Port-of-Spain, are rather solemn and dignified in the style of English-built organs. Work will soon commence on upgrading this instrument which includes replacing the partly worn out pneumatic transmission with state of the art switching that will bring this organ up to international standards so that it survives for more than another hundred years.
