Their love is like no other, both young and impressionable, most people had reservation about their commitment, but to them they knew they loved each other and the world of dance. Their union began through dance, and even though it is one of the main focal points in their lives, it is not the most important. Their selfless devotion and enticing connection towards one another is the driving force behind their marriage. When Pablo first saw Britney he was apprehensive about his approach, but he knew he wanted her. He found that she was attractive, her short hair and thick legs surrounded by a wonderful smile he couldn't resist; little did he know that she also felt something. They became good friends until one day when Britney migrated to further her studies; being apart made them realise how much they loved each other. Soon enough Britney returned to Trinidad to claim what was hers.
Pablo finally proposed to her, it was not the traditional way of getting on one knee, however he did propose in a public place; public enough as in Grillers, Port of Spain. He started with the engagement and she ended with the wedding date. A lot of people, though supportive, were very concerned about the wedding and some even voiced their concerns. "I loved him then, I still do today and somehow he is my equilibrium, and someone who treats me with respect and love," says Britney. "So on the wedding day I had no second thoughts, this is what I wanted. I believe once someone is happy and believe in their heart this is the person for them, then age should not be the defining factor of marriage," she states. The highlight of the wedding to her was having her mom walk her down the aisle, as her mother played bother parental roles throughout her life. The couple's dance started traditional but ended with a bang, by reenacting the steps of the 'Skip-To-My-Lou' dance.
Most times people think that being around one another through work and play is not healthy, but these two have been doing it since marriage and it is continuously working for them. Right after the wedding day the couple left for a tour of 25 states with the HD family and didn't have a honeymoon. This however, was not a problem for them because they had each other. Maintaining individuality within the marriage comes easy for them since they both know each other's personality. Being friends first allowed them the key of understanding for each other. "Not because we are married, means all things must change, we still do things together and even though relationships may have hiccups we keep it real," Pablo declares.
"Even when we are on tour, I sometimes will have the other male members as roommates, while she does the same with her female friends in the band," he adds.
Having a strong spiritual background, helps keep the union together, as they find solace through the many church services they attend as time will permit. Also blocking all negative influences that may disrupt their lives helps them to remain as one. Love and support from family and friends such as Machel Montano, who has helped tremendously, and has presented opportunities that come once a lifetime, have helped the couple mature far beyond words can explain. Pablo and Britney's advice for potential married couples is to get to know each other first before entering any marriage. Saying and hearing I love you is just not enough. They also strongly believe that counseling plays a critical role in the pre-marriage arrangements, but most of all, a marriage that is built on spirituality will always succeed.
