It was a perfect evening to get out with the family and have a good time. All roads led to the Queen's Park Savannah, Port-of-Spain last week Thursday night when the 2011 Beacon Cycling Festival was held.Organiser Michael Phillips flew in many top-notch world champions for the event but at the end of the gruelling 14-lap international race around the Savannah, it was Jamaican Marloe Rodman who mounted the rostrum as the winner. Second place went to Austrian Andreas Graf. But, the event wasn't only about cycling as also in the spotlight was the famous Triniposse which organised an all-inclusive viewing stand, just opposite TGI Fridays.
There was no end of entertainment with performances by top artistes, including Iwer George, JW & Blaze and others. The entertainment didn't stop there as there was also a presentation by Roslyn Gabriel's C2K11 winning band, led by Junior King of Carnival Yanick Holdip, and Neal & Massy Trinidad All Stars. In the Triniposse Stand, guests were served healthy hand-made turkey sandwiches, supplied by Kiss; beastly cold beers, courtesy Carib; corn soup; as well as Blue Waters and Monster drinks.Seen in the Stand were Wendy's bossman Dane Darbassie, Keith Nexar of Advantage Advertising, Arden Bally, Maurice Beeren and Soca Elvis.
