When the mv Treasure Queen sets sail at 8 pm on June 4, make sure that you won't be left behind. The event will be Families in Action's annual cruise, the reason will be charity and the mission will be fun. Titled Karma the Event II, this is the second time that the 22-year- old NGO is trying its hand at hosting a party on the high seas and patrons from last year will all agree that the first attempt was a resounding success.
Last year, patrons were treated to complimentary eats and drinks before boarding and they rocked to the sweet sounds of DJ Daryl. Karma the Event II is shaping up to be even more delightful, with promises of free photo opportunities for patrons and door prizes to sweeten the pot."As an NGO, we occasionally have to raise funds to help to offset some of our operating costs.
The cruise is a continuous effort on our part to make sure we are able to continue combating the social ills emerging in our communities," said Mrs Elizabeth Spence, Families in Action's Managing Director. Individual and hotline counselling, group support, workplace support, youth education, parenting programmes and more are available at Families in Action. Offered to the public at large, with a focus on upliftment and healing, Families in Action's services are utilised by people from all walks and stations of life.
