"Four dollars and Some Sense has been hailed by music critics both at home and abroad as being 'internationally ready,' and although many would ask, 'Why aren't you focusing only on that'?, I say, 'In my soul I know I'm finally on the right path, one where I feel chosen to prove that when you give your life to purpose, purpose takes care of you."This DVD album is something people who love my work been asking for for a long time. They say, 'Shakeela we want to be able to enjoy you in concert even when we are not in the audience.' Well, here it is."The DVD is being filmed "pro bono" by Pudgy Productions Film Company, owned by Andre and Cheryl Crichlow. Shakeela revealed the couple was also responsible for the live filming of this year's T&T Nurture the Youth (NTY) Concert and has agreed to provide state-of-the-art coverage of the upcoming Regional Youth Concerts, this year. She said Bay was "overjoyed."
Shakeela said all proceeds from this milestone event would go to the hosting of the two NTY 2011 concerts, to be staged at the Salvation Army Headquarters in Kingston, Jamaica, next month, in July of this year, and also towards the first NTY concert to be held in St George's, Grenada, in August. On April 20, at the Fanny Village Community Centre, Bay, in collaboration with Atlantic LNG, once again successfully hosted the Trinidad and Tobago leg of the concert. It catered to over 200 students from six primary schools, two secondary schools and four village councils from Point Fortin and its environs, during Point Fortin Borough Day Celebrations.Among the prominent people wishing Shakeela and Bay success in their endeavours was Minister of Arts and Multiculturalism Winston Peters when he met with Shakeela. This gifted producer/artiste said the Minister expressed a desire to assist Bay in expanding this conscious initiative to other islands regionally.
• Tickets for Saturday's concert cost $60 and there will be a dress code in effect. Showtime is 8 pm.
