With the excitement just a few days away, San Fernando is fever pitch and ready for Fashion Week San Fernando's sixth edition titled Passion for Fashion.The city of San Fernando is rolling out its red carpet to welcome established T&T fashion icons, along with young and emerging designers, to climax over a three-day period-June 24-26.Fashion lovers and patrons will have the opportunity to witness designer Meiling's new collection, Grande Riviere, first time showing anywhere in T&T.This will continue with more seasoned professionals such as Heather Jones, Peter Elias, Saleem Samuel, Anya Ayoung Chee, Rodney Alexander, Caribbean Academy of Fashion and Design, Deron Attzs Designs and Designer Look. Sister isle Tobago will also showcase some of its top designers.
The journey will then continue to South America to Canada for Passion Fruit Designs, then to Guyana for Miracle Hands, Haiti for David Andre, and then to the Bahamas.San Fernando Fashion Week will also welcome international fame fashion photographer, Donn Thompson, who has a wealth of accreditation to his name with work done for Essence Upscale, Vogue, Black Enterprise, Jet, Sister to Sister, Profiles 98 and many others.Screening and casting in the upcoming days for the next face and cover of the San Fernando Fashion Week magazine. This screening will be open to both males and females, as Thompson aims to present a balanced Caribbean esthetic of the multicultural and faceted islands of T&T.A talk shop/workshop will be held on June 25 at Royalty Plaza, Coffee Street, San Fernando, from 7 pm to 9 pm. All cutters, stitchers, jewelry makers, craftsmen and media will have the opportunity to meet and interact with some of the foreign designers, retailers, and distributors and will be privy to a mini viewing of their collections.On June 26, the red carpet rolls out from 6 pm for the gala runway showing at Paria Suites and Conference Centre, La Romaine.
