The recent reunion dinner and dance hosted by South East Port-of-Spain Secondary School Alumni Association saw alumni travelling from abroad specifically to attend the event. The venue was Reception Hall of the Cruise Ship Complex on Dock Road in Port-of-Spain, and several alumni, along with current serving principal Patricia Charles, were in attendance.
Among the many past members of staff who turned up in support of the association were former principals, who were presented with plaques by the Class of 1976. Dr Michael Alleyne, the first principal of the school, was presented with a plaque in recognition as the first honorary member of the Alumni Association.
The theme for the event, Memories of the Way We Were, was selected by the Class of 1976, who were highlighted this year. It is the intention of the association to recognise a different year group each year.
The association is engaged in an ongoing membership drive and all past pupils are invited to register.
