Caribe Fashion Specialist (CFS) is an organisation operating within the fashion/entertainment industry of Trinidad and Tobago. According to owner Natifa Alexander, "The primary objective of CFS is the total development of the model resource. This is facilitated via comprehensive training programmes for models along with services for our Image Enhancement/Management."I have been a part of the modelling industry throughout the country for several years. During this time I have functioned as co-ordinator, stage manager, trainer, etc, for beauty pageants, fashion model competitions and fashion shows."CFS is now in the implementation stage for the hosting of its first annual fashion show called Trini Style which is carded for September 23, at Queen's Hall, St Ann's, starting at 6 pm."Alexander said the goal of CFS for Trini Style did not stop at entertainment, but rather to also promote youth in the fashion industry. And to allow the next generation of fashion designers, models and make-up artistes to announce themselves to the industry and public at large through this grand presentation, this event will hopefully influence participants to keep marketing themselves after the event and be accessible to their public.
She added: "We hope to also encourage the public to be more supportive of positive young people and so to local brands."Tomorrow, CFS will be presenting six designers between the ages 18 to 35-Christopher Russell, Kerby Young, Machel Sandy, Sharlene Bramble, Ishanna Sealy and Stacy Smith-and two guest designers whom are over 35, in the persons of Kezzy Martin Ottley and Gerard Perry.Alexander said: "The night promises to be filled will vibrant performances by youth entertainers and exquisite fashion exhibitions. What greater way to kick off the Republic holiday than with a true expression of Trini Style."Trini Style is put together by CFS with assistance from Jimmy Aboud, Classy Fabrics, Team Orange event and décor services, Blue Marble productions, Ville Ventures Films, Microserv and individual contributors.
