When the Port-of-Spain Central Lions held its fund-raising cookout last month, the chefs of St Mary's College won the lion's share of the awards. This evening is payback time when Fatima College Old Boys' Association hosts its annual Salt and Pepper 2011 (Men Who Could Cook) Night of One Hundred Cooks at the college, on Mucurapo Road, in St James. Dinner will be served from 6.30 pm to 8 pm, and the night's activities end at 9 pm sharp. Competition is expected to be fierce when St Mary's old boys face off against their counterparts from Fatima, Queen's Royal College, Belmont Ex Pupils Association (Belex) Holy Name Convent and St Joseph's Convent.
The majority of tonight's cooks comprise Fatima "old boys," teachers, and parents. Any Fatima old boy willing to test his culinary skills on the night can contact the association's secretary, Karen, at 628 4735.
The function continues to be a very popular affair, comprising a sumptuous dinner, four meats will be served, all for the price of only $200. There will also be a well stocked bar, and tickets available at the association's office situated at the college, or any members of the Old Boys Committee. There will also be attractive door prizes and a prize for the cook with the most humorous (non controversial) dish name.
