Pharmacy Week in Trinidad and Tobago is celebrated every year on a specific theme to demonstrate the importance of pharmacy in health care and create awareness on important health related issues in the community. This year Pharmacy Week is celebrated from October 16-22, 2011 under the theme, Let's get Better Together by Ever Striving....Ever Seeking with a focus on the importance of staying healthy.
We all need to strive for mind-body balance to have an improved quality of life. Healthy living can be achieved by improving your personal health habits. These include eating right; staying physically active; not smoking; not abusing alcohol and drugs; and knowing your medicines.
On a daily basis, pharmacists make a positive contribution to the well being and care of patients and their safe and effective use of medicines. They can help you understand the appropriate use and intended outcome of your medicine, as well as any possible reactions and side effects. You can also talk to your pharmacist about how to store your medicines and what to do if you miss a dose. The management committee of the Pharmaceutical Society of Trinidad and Tobago acknowledges the invaluable contributions pharmacists and pharmacy assistants make to patient healthcare in our nation and thanks all for their dedication and hard work.
Thanks are extended to our industry partners who continue to supply quality products to ease the burden of disease among the population. In addition, thanks to the pharmacy owners, professional entrepreneurs and the Government of Trinidad and Tobago for providing professionals with the opportunity to give service to the people of this nation.
