Dermot Louison has grown into a household name. His paintings are appreciated by many who harbour a love and fascination for scenic T&T and for the lost or dying cultural and historical habits of the local community.His latest offering of artwork will be no exception, full of images of old-time Trinidad, complete with gramophones and donkey-carts.Louison can be described as a man of highly-individual character, who shuns publicity and prefers to spend his time hiking and fishing in various secluded parts of the island.
His works are greatly admired by art enthusiasts and adorn the walls of private homes, business institutions and banks, both local and international.Louison's exhibition takes place at Horizons Art Gallery with a grand opening tomorrow from 7 pm to 8.30 pm.Arvinder Bharath will officially open the exhibition, with live music provided by Jeffrey Pataysingh and friends. Viewing continues daily until November 5, Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm, Saturday 9am to 1pm.
