The inclement weather did not deter hundreds of participants from having a day of fun and games at the Just Because Foundation's Kiddi K Walk at the King George V Park, Port-of-Spain on April 28. A large turnout of supporters from schools, families and members of the public showed that a sense of awareness of paediatric cancer and the importance of healthy lifestyles from a very young age were being created in the public's minds. The participants were out in their numbers stretching, twisting and jumping to some of the latest hits.
As participants started the walk, the rain subsided and everyone, including Minister of Health Dr Fuad Khan and Minister of Education Dr Tim Gopeesingh walked around the King George V Park. On return, each participant received a medal for their achievement. The event included games, giveaways and sampling of many healthy products. Noel Joseph, founder of the Just Because Foundation, was pleased with the outcome of the event and urged parents to get their children involved in charitable activities so that they could learn the importance of giving back to their communities.
