The in­clement weath­er did not de­ter hun­dreds of par­tic­i­pants from hav­ing a day of fun and games at the Just Be­cause Foun­da­tion's Kid­di K Walk at the King George V Park, Port-of-Spain on April 28. A large turnout of sup­port­ers from schools, fam­i­lies and mem­bers of the pub­lic showed that a sense of aware­ness of pae­di­atric can­cer and the im­por­tance of healthy lifestyles from a very young age were be­ing cre­at­ed in the pub­lic's minds. The par­tic­i­pants were out in their num­bers stretch­ing, twist­ing and jump­ing to some of the lat­est hits.

As par­tic­i­pants start­ed the walk, the rain sub­sided and every­one, in­clud­ing Min­is­ter of Health Dr Fuad Khan and Min­is­ter of Ed­u­ca­tion Dr Tim Gopeesingh walked around the King George V Park. On re­turn, each par­tic­i­pant re­ceived a medal for their achieve­ment. The event in­clud­ed games, give­aways and sam­pling of many healthy prod­ucts. Noel Joseph, founder of the Just Be­cause Foun­da­tion, was pleased with the out­come of the event and urged par­ents to get their chil­dren in­volved in char­i­ta­ble ac­tiv­i­ties so that they could learn the im­por­tance of giv­ing back to their com­mu­ni­ties.
