The US Embassy has announced a number of scholarships available under the Fulbright Program to nationals of T&T. It is the US government's premier international educational exchange programme. A release from the embassy stated the invitation to apply is open to anyone possessing excellent academic records. However, US citizens, holders of a US legal permanent residency (Green Card) or people with extensive study experience in the US are not eligible.The embassy says it is currently accepting applications for the following scholarships:Fulbright Regional Network for Applied Research (NEXUS) Program.
This programme will link faculty, applied researchers and public policy professionals across the Western Hemisphere through international exchanges and seminars, allowing grantees to spend up to one year engaged in collaborative thinking, analysis, problem-solving and multi-disciplinary research in one of three inter-related areas: science, technology and innovation; entrepreneurship; and sustainable energy. The deadline for application is May 31. Faculty Development Program-For graduate study for faculty of tertiary-level institutions with at least two years of teaching experience. Nomination by applicant's university. The deadline for application is June 15. The Foreign Student Program-For graduate study in the Social Sciences and Humanities. The deadline for application is June 15.
Hubert H Humphrey Program-A non-degree program geared towards professional development. Fellows are recruited from both the public and private sectors. At least five-years working experience and a first degree are necessary. The deadline for application is August 15.
