Northeastern College in Sangre Grande hosted a very dynamic and enlightening Spanish Day at the school's library and media centre on May 10. The activity featured a variety of displays from the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, which included traditional wear, a book display, indigenous artefacts and musical instruments. The cultural activities which were presented included a tourism video of Venezuela, an address by both Ambassador Maria Eugenia Marcano Casado and military attaché Col Efren Barrios of the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. The day was held with the objective of encouraging student interest and fostering the need for Spanish as a second language in a globally developing world.
